I grew up Catholic and know all about 40 days of giving up something.
Funny thing is, when I look back, those years of giving up things for lent never filled me up with faithfulness. It just made me want more chocolate!

If ever there was a time that God wants you to fill your soul with goodness, this is it. We’ve given up enough with Covid: job security, regular school and our sense of security when it comes to our health. This Lent, why not add something that nurtures your soul?

My favorite walks are hikes to the top of mountains, but, even a walk in my neighborhood fills my soul! I love the cool air on my face, saying “good morning” to people passing by and quiet time to think.

Here’s a few ideas that fill my soul and I challenge you to add more to my lenten list!
- Take a walk every day for 40 days
- Create a “cozy corner” with your favorite things and sit quietly each day in your spot
- Write down one thing about yourself that you love every day and keep that list as a gift to yourself (maybe even frame it!)
- Start a prayer list and have your name be the first one on it, then add someone each day to lift them up in prayer
I can’t wait to hear your ideas and get inspired by your 40 day plan to #fillupnotgiveup
I’d love to hear about YOUR. SOULFUL. SPACES.

Hi Julie!

Thanks Stephanie! It was wonderful connecting today. I’m grateful for your insight and inspiration for my tagline
YOUR. SOULFUL. SPACES.
Hi Julie! What a beautiful page.
For Lent this year, I’m ADDING regular exercise. The pandemic has made it much harder – no yoga studio for me. So, every day, something… running up and down steps, weights, video yoga, a walk, and lately – shoveling snow.
Thank you Lori! Good for you! I am missing yoga in a studio so much. If only I could go to a “Jill” class that’d truly be good for my soul. Maybe a summer road trip stop. You ladies inspire me from afar!
