When we bought our house in Vermont a year ago, we found ourselves in, what I affectionately call, “our little corner of the world”.
Little did I know that our sweet, little corner was about to get even sweeter.
Baking is Her Therapy

The first time our neighbor’s husband came over carrying a plate of homemade treats, I knew God –really– had placed me just where I was supposed to be!
I’m a sweets lovin’ Vermont girl who treasures simple pleasures.
Since moving home, mine have included near weekly deliveries of warm muffins or cookies or bread. My soul has been fed by the sheer deliciousness of what has been baked – and shared – over the last year.
When your soul is fed by so much love, you can’t help but want other people to feel that love too.

The Grace of Simple Gifts
I see a lot of Moms working hard around me and my heart has felt pulled to cook for them.
You’d think I was an Italian Grandma! Actually, I’m just an Irish girl, who fell for a Cajun, who cooked dinner for me on our first date.
I’m more of a baker with a few “dinner specials” in my repertoire.
Baking It Forward
I mentioned those Moms around me.
I try not to ignore the pull that I have toward doing something good. I recommend it … whether it’s for yourself or someone else. I think it is God’s guiding hand gently nudging us to what is divine for our soul.

I Feel Spoiled
My son’s teacher gives me such faith! My little guy doesn’t fit into a box and she has helped him grow ~ just as he is. As a Mom, it’s been the most beautiful thing to witness.
She’s also dealt with the challenges of the pandemic, raising her own kids and probably doing a million other things that I never see!
My ” go to” sharing meal is Turkey Bolognese. It’s homemade, but not too hard and always turns out delicious.
I use a recipe from Delish and it lives up to the website’s name!
This week, I surprised my son’s teacher with a meal ready-to-eat for her family.
She said, “I feel spoiled”. That made my heart so happy! For all she does, she deserves to feel that way.
Truly Jude “Feed Your Soul” Challenge
Wouldn’t it be cool if we fed our soul by feeding teachers families once in awhile? Or, if you know a single Mom who’s working hard and needs that kind of soulful love, maybe surprise her?
You can even share the infographic with your friends on social media.
If you do take this soulful challenge, let me know! Share a comment or a photo and tag me! Maybe we can spread the love that started by my own neighbor’s kindness.
If this idea totally overwhelms you, don’t do it! That’s really what Truly Jude is all about – understanding what will feed our soul and doing that!
Thanks friends for letting me be a part of your world!
Truly,
Julie

I have a friend who cooks for me a couple of times a month, then sends me home with left overs…I’m spoiled too.

YOU are a gem ♥️
Thank you sweet lady! This is soulful to hear ~ you are a gem for sharing such a sweet message!
This is a wonderful idea! Recently I saw a post from a woman whom does this and uses Yard Sale casserole dishes that she asks people to “pay it forward” with the dish/meal or keep it for themselves! Love, love, love this… Thank you, Julie. You are one of a kind! ❤️
Thank YOU Renee for your sweet words! What a fabulous idea! Could help me track down that post? I would love to see it and maybe even link it to my blog and find out what inspired her!
