Just Say “Yes”
I once interviewed a graphic designer who was heading to the Dragonboat World Championships in Italy. She had never played sports. When I asked her how in the world she ended up on a championship racing team, she said …
“When I got breast cancer and I was going through treatment, I decided that, once I was done, I would ‘JUST SAY YES’ when opportunities came up.”

She Changed My Life
She didn’t know it at the time, but I was right in the middle of fertility treatment and it was a hard time for me.
God knew that I needed to hear that message! Her wise words were divine intervention for me.
Any time that I feel challenged or an opportunity comes up or I don’t know how a decision will turn out, I hear those words, ‘JUST SAY YES’.
Say ‘YES’ to New Experiences at Any Age

Which brings me to a hill in Burke, Vermont and my Mother-in-Law from Louisiana.
She had never been in snow before, much less geared up with boots, face covering, long johns – the whole shebang!
My husband got her situated in the tube and I heard him say, “I’ll just take your picture”.
HECK NO!
How could she not say “yes”?
“Send her down!” I called from my perch at the bottom of the hill.

This was an opportunity that was too good to be true. She had come for Thanksgiving and had enjoyed her first snow storm during her visit.
And off she went …
… 83-years-old and laughing all the way!
Truly,
Julie
