I’m more of a ‘goals girl’ than a resolution maker.
A goals list doesn’t box me into a timeframe of when I can start.
That being said, I want “collective caring” to be the top resolution of 2022.
Collective Caring is the American Way
The America that I love is all about caring about the collective and showing up when people need us most.
As a journalist, I’ve reported on some of the most profound examples of this:
Hurricane Katrina and the hundreds of regular people who took boats into New Orleans to save lives. THIS IS COLLECTIVE CARING.
September 11th and the droves of volunteers who rushed to donate blood. THIS IS COLLECTIVE CARING.
Somehow, the America that I love forgot that this is how we roll!

Pandemic Started with Collective Caring
As the pandemic started, do you remember feeling this?
I do!
The power of a positive collective is greater than any negative force. How do we help regular folks remember that this is the heart of who we are?
I don’t want to talk politics because there is a lot that I would have done differently, in the last six months, to protect our citizens. That being said, I didn’t expect to go to the town barn and feel overwhelmed by the collective caring happening there.

That’s right! The spot where you find our crews and equipment to keep roads safe in the winter was the same spot being used to help keep our schools open after the holidays.
Talk about using resources well!
They had a drive thru set up for picking up free Covid tests to use before kids head back to school.
This is a friendly, fun crew doing something totally out of the box and it felt so good.
This type of collective caring – where we go out of our way or out of our comfort zone – to help keep families safe is the America that I love!

Caring About the Collective
We’re heading for a tough few months with Omicron.
I pray that we can overpower the divisiveness with something much more positive.
Let’s make our top resolution for 2022 about caring for the collective!
Do you feel like you need more of this is your life too? Are you tired of feeling like everything is about fighting against each other instead of working together?
Leave a message and let me know how you feel!
Truly,
Julie

I plan to change my perspective in 2022!
I believe everyone could use two things; more time and more people to care about them. In 2022, I will be more caring by offering patience for the person that cuts in line, doesn’t wait their turn or takes longer than 10 seconds to make a decision. Those things usually drive me crazy, however, caring about others has to start somewhere for me. It will start with me looking at people that annoy me with a different perspective. 😍
Love your BLOG! It’s the best, literally, THE BEST, as are YOU! Happy 2022
I love this! It’s a big one – going straight to the people who frustrate you the most. Here’s the gift to yourself … You’ll feel so much better and make the world a little less stressful! Thank you, thank you for being in this community with me. It makes my heart so happy!
